Events and Experiments for CTL2000
Public experiments, a place to test, to succeed or fail in a public environment, are a vital part of what is done in the Closing The Loop series. The following events have taken place or are planned - use times and dates relative to when you are now.
- Laboratory / Workshop, 6-11 Feb, Iris Cinema Adelaide. Various presentations and experiments over a five day period.
- Untitled. Iris Cinema Adelaide and CalArts, California, in the Laboratory.
- Social Laboratory / IT Fruhstueck. 12 Feb 2000 Evening at the Hart Mill, Adelaide, morning at the Times Up Laboratories in Linz.
- Biomachines. Performances in the Biomachines space at the Hart Mill, Adelaide, part of the Adelaide Festival.
- Tran'sient. Venues Perth, Adelaide and CalArts. RealAudio sound loop, Shortwave manipulations.
- Dust. Venues Frameries, Belgium and Linz Laboratories (plus more to be announced). Real Audio loop plus Midi over IP tests. Dust is Virus is Info.
- Transient-II at net.congestion. A sound loop (stations in Perth, Los Angeles and Linz) was streamed into the performance venue at the festival, sound placement software rotating the audio streams around a 4-speaker loop, approximating the looping of the audio. October 7 2000, Melkweg, Amsterdam.
- Transient-III. They are spreading. Centre of the loop will be CalArts, November 8 2200 US Pacific Time, 9 November 2000 0600 GMT. No website yet, contact Jesse Gilbert at jgilbert@mail.wesleyan.edu for details.
- A loop at the "Tesla Coil" event at Jack Sue Gallery in Perth, West Australia, 18 November 2000, Perth evening. Contact jeremyhicks39@hotmail.com for details.
- Dust 2905 with a presentation in Linz at the Time's Up laboratories. Evening of 29 May.
